How to split PDF pages into separate files
Use the free PDF splitter when you need to separate selected pages from a longer document. Each selected page becomes its own PDF, and the ZIP file keeps those individual documents together for one download. Processing runs in your browser.
Choose a document from your device. The splitter accepts a PDF file; it doesn't need a WRKDOCS login.
Use the page-selection controls to include specific pages or leave the selection empty to split every page.
Run the tool, download the ZIP containing your new one-page PDFs, and check the results before sharing them.
When should I split a PDF instead of extract pages?
Use Split PDF to create multiple one-page files. To keep several chosen pages together in a single PDF instead, use the Extract PDF Pages tool. To join documents again, try Merge PDF.
Common questions about splitting PDFs
Can I split just a few pages of a PDF?
Yes. Select the pages you want to separate. Each selected page is exported as an individual PDF in the resulting ZIP.
Can I split an entire PDF into single-page files?
Yes. Leave the page selection empty to split the full document. The ZIP will contain one PDF for each page.
Why does WRKDOCS download a ZIP instead of many PDFs?
It packages the newly created one-page PDFs into one downloadable archive, so you can save them together and extract them afterward.
What happens to digital signatures or annotations?
Saving extracted pages as new PDFs may invalidate cryptographic signatures and can affect annotations or other PDF features. Review the output before distributing a signed or legally important document.
Does WRKDOCS upload the document to a server?
No. This splitter processes the PDF contents in your browser using PDF and ZIP libraries, although your browser may need to download the libraries first. Very large or password-protected PDFs may not work.
Other PDF fixes: Rotate sideways PDF pages online, view PDF documents, or add a visual signature.
