Compress an image to a target KB limit

Enter 20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB or your own maximum. WRKDOCS searches for a JPG or WebP encoding at or below that limit, reducing dimensions if needed. An exact byte count is not guaranteed.

How to compress an image under 20 KB or 100 KB

    1. Select a JPG, PNG or WebP photo.
    2. Choose Maximum KB size and enter your target, for example 20 or 100.
    3. Use JPG for documents and photo applications, or WebP when supported.
    4. Click Compress image, then verify the actual resulting KB and pixel dimensions before downloading.

Some complex images cannot fit very small limits without unacceptable loss of detail. If the target is unattainable at the minimum allowed resolution, the tool reports an error rather than saving a file over the limit. See also photo dimensions for applications.

How to use compress an image for easier sharing

WRKDOCS re-encodes the image as JPG or WebP with adjustable lossy compression. Lower quality often produces smaller files; the actual results depend on the input.

    1. Select a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
    2. Select quality and output size.
    3. Download the re-encoded picture.

Important: Compression is lossy and not guaranteed to make every image smaller. Transparency is flattened against white for JPG/WebP.

Privacy: WRKDOCS processes your files locally in your browser. No document contents are uploaded to WRKDOCS. Third-party library notices are available in Third-party licenses.
