When this tool is useful
Renaming documents one by one takes time, and inconsistent names make files harder to find later. A batch workflow is useful for scanned receipts, project photos, monthly records, and grouped PDF reports.
Choose an understandable naming pattern
Begin with names your team can recognize. A short project label, a sequence number and, when useful, a date are easier to scan than a collection of default camera names.
WRKDOCS Document Automation Studio supports the tokens {name}, {n} and {date}. You can also start numbering at a chosen value and find and replace text before exporting.
Organize and export in four steps
- Select the files you want to package. The studio currently accepts up to 40 files, 25 MB per file and 120 MB per selection.
- Choose a filename pattern, starting number, and optional folder grouping by file type or modified month.
- Inspect the output-name preview. Reorder files or remove an unwanted file before creating the package.
- Download the ZIP, open it and verify the folder paths. The package also includes a JSON manifest describing the processing operations.
Avoid accidental name collisions
Two input files can have the same name. The studio adds a numeric suffix when needed, so both files can fit in the package. Review the preview for names that are too similar before sharing.
Changing file extensions alone does not convert file formats. Choose image conversion explicitly when you want to convert a supported photo to JPG or PNG. Other file types are copied without content conversion.
These instructions describe the tools available on WRKDOCS. Always inspect the exported result before relying on it for important work.
